Howett Thorpe Blog Post Content 2017 - A busy year at Howett Thorpe 2017 has been a busy year at Howett Thorpe with many new developments and changes. We thought we would take the opportunity to share with you some of the highlights from the year. But first news from 2016. Last year Howett Thorpe launched its HR Talent & Solutions arm, under the supervision of Ed Dalton. In just a relatively short time this division has grown and established itself within our region as a preferred recruitment partner for companies looking to source HR professionals, and candidates looking for their next move. To build on Ed’s great work we have now recruited Claudia Carley who is a CIPD qualified Senior HR Advisor. Along with here extensive recruitment experience, Claudia is ideally placed to provide accurate HR advice and support to clients and candidates. Weybridge office move At the end of July our Weybridge office relocated to newly refurbished offices at the popular Horizon Business Village on the edge of the town. This move has improved our onsite facilities, providing a much better interview suite for confidential client and candidate meetings. Sam Morgan, our knowledgeable Manager, is on hand to assist our clients and candidates; we operate an open door policy at our offices so if you’re passing and would like to pop in to meet the team, check out the new offices, or have an informal chat about your career or recruitment needs, please do. Chris Williams joins the team, under the management of Richard Latham, bringing with him a wealth of experience in financial recruitment. We now boast a fantastic open plan office at The Millennium Centre, with confidential interview facilities for our clients and candidates. Also based in Farnham, our strong back office team has also been expanded to cope with the extra demands of Agency Worker Regulations, Pension Auto-enrolment and GDPR, which will be coming into effect in May 18. Managing Director Greg Thorpe has also led a charity golf day for Howett Thorpe’s chosen charity Victoria’s Promise. This is a local cancer charity that supports young women with cancer and their families. Victoria’s Promise helps young women through a range of services including counselling and advice, wig funding, specialist skincare and oncology massage. Greg has supported this charity for a number of years and is delighted to be able donate further through our fundraising activities. Investing in our staff As a reward for all their hard work, and for keeping the Howett Thorpe team focused, motivated and happy, we have enjoyed a number of activities over the last year. Top highlights include Go-Kart racing at TeamSport in Farnborough, a Top Golf night at Top Golf in Addlestone, and a hair raising Thames River boat experience for our top billers!
