About The Role

  • Work closely with the Senior Management team to ensure work is carried out in an efficient timely manner and to budget.
  • Ensure staff levels are sufficient for work planner and assist in recruitment and staff development where necessary.
  • Provide internal reports on work flow and budgets and other management information.
  • Supervise a team of qualified and qualified staff who undertake a range of Business Service Group activities.
  • Review of statutory accounts to comply with UK GAAP / FRS, as appropriate.
  • Undertake the preparation of more complex statutory accounts from trial balances as provided by clients including consolidated accounts.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial and management reports as determined by client instructions.
  • Provide clients with meaningful interpretation of any information produced and to highlight risks, and, or, concerns identified. In particular interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
  • Oversight of communications with HMRC and other government bodies as required to ensure the accurate reporting and accounting of client details.
  • Ad hoc project work on with incomplete records and forensic accounting as required by either a Partner or client.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of popular accounting software packages, e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, etc.
  • Review VAT returns on either cash, or, accrual basis as required for clients allowing suitable time for review and submission.

About You

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience of managing a team of qualified and part qualified staff.

You will seeking a role where you can have management level input into the business and be responsible for the control and reporting on a key business area.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This role may suit an individual from an Accountancy firm seeking an office based role or someone from an Outsourcing background seeking progression and diversity in their role.
