A career switcher who embarked on their journey to become a Chartered Accountant a couple of years ago. Self-funding and learning the AAT, this has helped him get his foot in the door at a small, local practice. The candidate has gained some great experience, due to the very small team, they have been tasked with responsibilities usually reserved for the more senior staff, for example, preparing and filing year end accounts with HMRC, advising on personal tax matters, liaising with and advising clients on complex matters. Whilst it has been great to gain this experience, it isn’t the right environment for a junior accountant, and they have lacked the support and training required. Due to the lack of staff and heavy workload, the candidate has been unable to take any time out for study, this is one of the main reasons they are looking to leave.

A very lovely individual, dedicated to this career switch as evident by going through AAT L2 and L3 whilst working full time and raising a young family. They are seeking an opportunity with a structed study and development program with study support to finish AAT L3 and 4, they would certainly be very interested in taking that to the next level with ACA or ACCA if that was available too.
