Salary : £70,000 - £75,000

A growing enterprise based in Chichester is looking to appoint a qualified Financial Controller who will oversee the financial control, finance operations and reporting for this growing SME.  This position offers the opportunity to work at both an operational and strategic level with some key project involvement. The thriving SME are also able to offer a career plan with a possibility of this position being made into a Finance Director.

Financial Controller – About The Role 

You will be joining this business during an exciting time, there has been double digit growth over the past 5 years.  This position will be reporting into the Board (shareholders to the business) while overseeing the management of the finance team.  This position will be involved in the day-to-day management of the finances, while assisting with the strategic growth plans outlined for the future. There will also be several key projects that will require the intervention of the Financial Controller. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the transactional finance team  
  • Co-ordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecast including variances analysis and commentary 
  • Prepare and consolidation the monthly management accounts 
  • Responsible for all consolidation statutory accounts 
  • VAT Returns, RTI payments 
  • Be the main point of contact for the annual audit 
  • Be a key player with a system implementation (industry specific) 

The successful Financial Controller will have: 

  • A formal qualification in Accountancy such as ACA, CIMA or ACCA
  • Ideally experience of working within the Construction industry
