Senior Finance Manager – About The Role
The position will be leading the finance team, reporting into the Finance Director to ensure robust financial controls are adequate, in addition to compiling the month-end reporting pack for the leadership team. You will play a key role in the infrastructure development including reporting and processing. This position would suit someone who is looking to take a step up facilitating a number 2 position or someone who is already working at a similar level. The role offers a suitable combination of reporting, operational and strategic involvement and you will be working in a collaborative working environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare the month-end reports to be presented to the Finance Director in readiness for the leadership team meetings.
- Working as a business partner to the budget holders, ensuring accountability surrounding the variance results.
- Manage and lead the budget process and implementing controls as required.
- Preparation of the statutory accounts for all subsidiary companies, working with the auditors (internal and external).
- Oversee the transactional finance including purchase ledger, sales ledger and treasury functions.
- Responsible for ensuring that VAT and statutory returns are completed.
The successful Senior Finance Manager will have/be:
- A formal qualification in finance with a minimum of 3 years’ post qualified experience.
- Experience of working within public sector or education would be highly desirable.
- Excel knowledge to an advanced level.
