Next have announced an increase in their clothing sales whilst Marks and Spencer announce a decrease in theirs. So is the retail sector suffering in these tough times or are people being more discerning when spending their hard earned cash. As consumers what is it that we would like: service (preferably with a smile and some knowledge), options, a fair price for the product, these would probably be at the top of the list for many of us.
One man who feels that the high street can return to its former glory and wants to buck the trend in the retail sector has tweeted today regarding his latest business acquisition. Theo Pathitiss (yes he of Dragon Dens fame) announced earlier today that he has purchased Robert Dyas, another business that has recently been faced with an uncertain future. Perhaps the Entrepreneur will put drive and passion into this new venture and save a business that has been in existance for 140 years, it would be great to see some of the older brands out there make a comeback. Time will tell!!!
