As our great leader basks in the glory of taking our great country out of the recession we as “real” decision makers need to be sharp and decisive in what we do strategy wise throughout 2010.

2009 was an extremely difficult year and having guided our way through very challenging times we need to look at our recruitment plans. The biggest mistake would be to rush into recruitment, yes we need to strengthen our teams however it is more essential that we recruit the right staff.

We can help you in your recruitment planning for the year ahead and I would welcome the opportunity of visiting any decision maker if you think it might assist you in the recruitment process.

Howett Thorpe has been trading for in excess of 20 years and have already successfully negotiated the recession of the early 90’s, our local knowledge and database puts us in a very strong position to assist you.

It is not just about recruitment, it is about retaining your best staff. Our latest salary survey is about to be released and I believe that its simplicity and the fact that it is based on local trends can be a useful tool to ensure you make the right decisions.

Howett Thorpe witnessed a decline in its net fees during 2009 primarily in Public Practice and the Temporaries market. Whilst it is early days in 2010, there is positive movement in the temporaries sector and we have seen a significant increase in job registrations.

There is no doubt that whilst specialist recruitment markets continue to be very challenging, candidate and client sentiment have improved over recent months and this is very encouraging in monitoring future trends.

We as a business, have invested a substantial sum in our IT infrastructure which will over the forthcoming months make us even more efficient when working with you.

Whilst it’s been a challenging 2009 I look forward to the new year, I am always available so please call me if I can be of any assistance, alternatively my team have substantial experience in all areas of recruitment. You can “meet the team” by clicking on our Contact Us section
