A newly qualified ACCA individual who is now seeking their next role. Since starting their career in finance, they have achieved great progression and has really enjoyed covering all areas of finance. For the past 4 years, they have been working as a Finance Analyst for a market leading sustainability organisation and has been working on some very exciting projects. They are now looking to build on this experience in a new Finance Analyst/Business Partnering role. Howett Thorpe placed this individual in their first ever finance position and has been supporting in their journey ever since.
Exposure includes:
- Working closely with operational and commercial site-based teams to report and claim correctly for costs incurred under an NEC contract for a £20m+ project.
- Control and analysis of contract spend and commitments with additional analysis of overheads relating to the highways business area.
- Month end journal posting for cost movements/ provisions/ accruals/ prepayments/ Intercompany.
- Creation of monthly management accounts pack and financial breakdowns of cost recoveries. Visualisations and analysis for internal business performance reporting.
- Detailed contract reviews to support operational management, subcontractor auditing to support quantity surveyor.
- Review / control & police that all the company’s financial processes and procedures are being adhered to e.g. purchase orders, client billing, employee expenses. stepping in to support, manage or train as necessary.
- Ensure invoices are raised in accordance with contracts and company policy, management of debt collection, WIP recovery and review of BIA.
- Supporting analysis and management of risk and opportunity applicable to the business unit.
- Profitability analysis of both project and business area, with relevant forecasting and communication to stakeholders (inc senior management + directors)
Software knowledge: Sage, Netsuite, Power BI
Qualifications: ACCA 2025, AAT 2022
