Part time Finance Officer – About The Role
Provide day-to-day financial management, including budgeting, reporting, payroll, payments, and compliance, ensuring accurate records, effective controls, and adherence to statutory requirements. Oversee day-to-day finances in line with local authority regulations, legislation, and accounting standards.
- Prepare annual financial statements, internal control statement, and liaise with external auditors.
- Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, bank reconciliations, and budget monitoring reports.
- Manage staff payroll, tax/NI compliance, and statutory returns.
- Maintain VAT records and submit returns/reclaims.
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenditure, assets, and liabilities.
- Prepare annual budgets.
- Process invoices, ensure timely payments/collections, and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage bank mandates, authorisations and signatories.
- Maintain an accurate asset register to audit standards.
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong financial and accounting experience.
- Accounting qualifications to AAT or equivalent level
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
